In a world economy you must develop the skills necessary to negotiate and appreciate a multi-lingual and multi-cultural world. My intention is for you to develop a joy and interest in studying a world language and to promote your understanding of other cultures. By the time you finish Spanish III you will have achieved a pre-advanced to advanced performance level according to the standards published by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
CLASS DESCRIPTION:Spanish is the language expected to be spoken at all times. This Spanish class has been designed with five goals in mind. These goals were based on the national and state foreign language standards.
v Goal 1- You will be able to communicate with fluency in Spanish and understand both what you hear and what you read in real life situations. v Goal 2- You will develop an understanding and appreciation for other cultures in the world and compare their ways of life, points of views and contributions to those of your own culture. v Goal 3- Your instruction will be integrated with content from other subject areas (reading, math, music, health, art, etc) and developing computer technologies. v Goal 4- You will understand English and their culture better trough comparisons, as you discover patterns, make predictions, and analyze similarities and differences between languages and cultures. v Goal 5 – You will take what you have learned and use it outside your classroom through your community, parents, friends, blogs, podcasts, videos, wikis, travels, future professions, etc.
